Candidate Profile: Jimmy Wallace

STAFF REPORTS — Construction company owner Jimmy Wallace has announced he will be a candidate for mayor of Cedar Bluff in the upcoming election.

Originally from Fort Payne, Wallace, 54, has worked in the construction business for 37 years, the last 34 as an owner and the last 20 as proprietor of Jimmy Wallace Construction Co., Inc. He has also been in the commercial rental business since 1990, and has been a member of the Cedar Bluff Police Department since 2000. For the past seven years, he has also served as the town's building inspector.

Wallace said he believes his experience in construction will come in handy if elected mayor.

"With the help and support of the townspeople, I will make a difference because the town is growing and I have the business and construction experience to lead Cedar Bluff in the right direction," he said.

Wallace also laid out several areas he feels are most important for the next mayor to focus on immediately.

"The top issues are utilities and streets," Wallace said. "There are also other areas that need attention, such as animal control, the park renovation, and cleaning up our causeways and other unsightly areas in the town."
