Cedar Bluff leads all schools with 11 on All-County team

STAFF REPORTS — The Cedar Bluff Tigers, who finished the year with a record of 11-1, lead the 2012 All-County team with 11 starters and four honorable mentions. Spring Garden’s Jason Howard, in his first year back with the Panthers after a two-year stint at his alma mater, was named Cherokee County Coach of the Year.

Cedar Bluff quarterback Levi Mintz was named Offensive Co-Most Valuable Player, along with Spring Garden running back Forrest Livingston. Cedar Bluff’s Nick Combs was named Defensive MVP.

Players named to the All-County Team are listed below.

Cedar Bluff: Levi Mintz, Nick Combs, Skylar Cagle, Curtis Abernathy, DeAngelo Hardy, Rickey Pendley, Blake Terry, D’Shawn Fife, Lee Hughes, Dalton Cosby, and C.J. Gilreath. Honorable Mention: Jake Mintz, Alex Hairston, Shane Hall and Terrence Scales.

Spring Garden: B.J. Turner, Forrest Livingston, Jack Grogan, Will Penton, Will Ivey, Tyler Morgan, Craig Jones, Caleb Steward and Dylan Watson. Honorable Mention: Sam Parris and Josh Hall.

Sand Rock: Drake Wilbanks, Skylar Williams, Sean Wilie, Stethan Chandler, Chandler Mackey and Dylan Mackey. Honorable Mention: Dustin Chambers, Ethan Jimmerson and Tyler Clanton.

Cherokee County: Tanner Young, Zach Bedwell, Brandon Henderson, Wade Griffith and Josh Higgins. Honorable Mention: Chase May and Andrew Johnson.

Gaylesville: John David Jennings, Levi Teague, Cole Murphy and Gable Lawson. Honorable Mention: Dylan Mitchell and Seth Lawson.
