GADSDEN — Five Gadsden State students are competing for the title of Miss Gadsden State Community College 2011.  The tenth annual pageant, which is a preliminary for Miss Alabama, is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m. at Wallace Hall Fine Arts Center on the Wallace Drive Campus in Gadsden.

This year’s contestants are Courtney Yancey and Caiti Gattis of Gadsden; Emma Mullinax of Rainbow City; Lauren Thomas of Southside; and Anna Beth Lowe of Oneonta.

There is no admission charge and the public is invited to attend to support the contestant of their choice. The theme this year is “Ease on Down the Road” and performances during the evening will include high-spirited music and uniquely choreographed dance numbers. The contestants will participate in the evening’s entertainment, which features the Gadsden State Ensemble and Southern Belle dancers.

The reigning Miss Gadsden State, Chasity Doster of Attalla, will crown the winner.
