The artwork and illustrations of 17-year-old Danielle Holloway will be on display Feb. 28 through March 3 at the Cherokee County Historical Museum. Danielle, who lives in Leesburg with her grandmother, hopes to sell her illustrations and use the funds to continue her art education as a college student after she graduates from high school.

Cherokee County Historical Museum will host a Cherokee Indian historian Saturday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. He will be telling stories for children of all ages.

 

Cedar Bluff Town Hall will be closed Monday, Feb. 20 in honor of Presidents Day. Monday's trash route will be run Wednesday, Feb. 22.

 

Septic Tank Pump-Out Voucher Program will offer one-hour seminars Feb. 23 at the Leesburg Emergency Shelter and March 1 at the Chamber of Commerce in Centre. First 60 at each seminar get a voucher for $150 to be used for pumping out your septic tank.

 

Arbor Day Tree Giveaway conducted with assistance from the Cherokee Rose Garden Club will be Feb. 22 beginning at noon at the Cherokee Arena on the campus of Gadsden State Cherokee in Centre. For more info contact the Forestry Commission at 256-927-3163.

Fairview Methodist on 411 will host a gospel benefit singing for Chrales Latty Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. featuring the Questionaires and the Quest Quartet.

 

Sand Rock Baptist will host its 15th annual Wildlife Dinner Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. featuring guest speaker Wildlife Biologist Tracy Nelson. No cost. Everyone bring your favorite wild game dish, side dish or dessert.

 

Catholic Mass is held the first and third Sundays at 5 p.m. at Knowledge Tree Day Care in Centre.

 

East Centre Baptist invites kids in grades 4-6 to Bible drill study sessions Wednesdays at 6 p.m.
