CENTRE – The Good Guys (12-0) overcame a 12-point halftime deficit last week to capture their third consecutive Open League Rimroccer championship, defeating the Green Machine 81-76.

The Machine could not stop Good Guys’ Will Ginn. The former JSU guard and game MVP netted 37 points. Providing solid support were Gadsden State teammates Andrew Morris (20) and Jay Whorton (16).  Jake Ford led the Machine with 18, while Nick Wheeler had 17 and Johnny Amison 13.

In the Church League, Union Grove Methodist (11-1) earned its first championship with a 48-42 win over Pine Grove (10-2).  Union Grove got off to a fast start and opened up a 13-point lead.  But Piney would battle back and close out the half down by three, 25-22.

In the second half, the Methodist duo of Cliff Highfield (20) and Adam Maddox (16) controlled the tempo for Union and kept Pine Grove in check.  Piney would get 14 from Keddrick Barrett, but no other player reached double digits.
