County tourney begins Jan. 11 at Cherokee Arena

CENTRE — The Cedar Bluff Tigers and the Cherokee County Lady Warriors are among the ranked county teams that will take to the court at Cherokee Arena when the annual Cherokee County Basketball Tournament gets underway Tuesday, Jan. 11.

The Alabama Sports Writers Association has the Tigers (12-1) ranked No. 2 in the state in Class 1A. In the girls poll, the Lady Warriors (14-0) are number four.

The Spring Garden girls team is ranked No. 3 in the Class 1A poll. The Lady Panthers (13-5) open tourney play Friday, Jan. 14 against Sand Rock.
